| Meet Charlotte Dickens and Nathaniel Hawthorne. I'm pretty certain that Charlotte (a Buff Orpington) is a pullet and that Nathaniel (probably a NH Red cross) is a cockerel. His comb is not only bigger but is starting to get darker already. They also react to sudden noises and movements very stereotypically. |

| We have two baby chicks now 2 weeks old sharing growing space with the seedlings. |

| The one on the left appears to be a buff orpington cross and the one on the right is a buff. Don't know yet whether I have two roos or hens. For now, they're named Charles Dickens and Nathanial Hawthorne (Charlotte and Natalie if we're lucky enough to have two hens). |

| Thanks to 15-year old Nicholas at Sugarmomma's Maple Farm in Northwood who hatched and sold us our new babies. We have more baby chicks on the way - some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes! Also we're trying our hand at hatching some fertilized eggs in an incubator in April. |
