Pesto Making

Art and Naish planted this garlic in November 2009. We harvested over a 100 heads
which are hanging in the "curing" shed.  This variety is organic "Purple Wild."
Seed garlic was from the Cox family at Tuckaway Farm in Lee, NH.

Genovese Basil started from seed in D.C. in April.

Pesto Pasta Eating!

I made pesto on Friday afternoon with our own garlic and basil. I used some for our pasta dinner with Beth, Don, Misa, and Larry and then squeezed the rest into an ice cube tray and froze it for winter cooking and eating. I have to do another big batch before we head to Woods Hole and the basil that's running amok in the garden starts flowering.
